Louis Comfort Tiffany was not the Tiffany of Breakfast at Tiffany's, but rather the original jewelry tycoon's rebellious son. As a painter, Louis loved nature traveling the world in his twenties in search of beauty... Where did he find it? Back home, of course.

Much to his fathers despair, he refused to go into the family jewelry business opting instead for a career as a painter. But the joy of craft was in his blood. He transformed the Medieval technique of painting on glass by developing  Fabril glass, an opalescent, brilliant glass that far out-glowed any of the existing glass and changed the craft forever.  Mr. Tiffany painted  WITH glass, not ON glass.

Preschoolers and molten glass are generally not a good combo, nor are the sharp edges of cut glass so we opted plastic, bright tissue paper and... GLITTER GLUE!  Look at this lovely "mothy butterfly with a spider taking a ride" from Mz. Ellens Class!
Another Gibbs preschooler shows off his colorful creature.
Jordan and Lilyana's art work are ready to grace the window, as soon as it gets  sunny here in gloomy ole Ohio...
Paloma from Mz. Simons class at Belle Stone added curlieques to her butterfly and then sparkled them with golden glitter glue.
Mz. Lisa at Youtz climbed up on the heater to put her flock up right away.  No waiting for sun for her preschoolers!
Another Youtz Yak created a pair of "almost butterflies" which as we all know means, caterpillars. She also made them a birdhouse in case they get tired!

Thank you to all of my wonderful Preschool teachers and kids!  You make my Thursday and Fridays a delight!  Enjoy and draw, paint and as always, spread some glitter!
